Note: The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found in the DBS filtering guidance or on the Ministry of Justice website. We fully comply with the DBS code of practice and a copy of our policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders is available on request. Failure to reveal information that is directly relevant to the position sought could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment. The post will be subject to a criminal records disclosure. (A fee is required for this service, which Preston Bethany Care will fund, but should your employment terminate within four weeks of your appointment, the fee will be subject to repayment.)
